It is, in short, a balloon that raises a wind turbine 300 meters high. A concept borrowed from aerospace technology, it uses inflatable helium to lift a small generator into the air, the balloon is made of a very strong and light material to support the weight and be able to float easily in the air.

The higher the height, the more electricity the wind turbines produce, this is the concept Altaeros wants to take advantage of, raising its wind turbines from 300 to 600 meters in the air to be the most efficient wind turbines on the market.

Higher up, the wind is stronger and more constant, it is 8 to 10 times faster than that of the ground, suddenly, Altaeros will produce twice as much energy as conventional terrestrial turbines.

It works the same as any wind turbine, the wind drives the blades and the shaft spins the generator, producing electricity.

Electricity travels to earth via an electric cable that connects the turbine to the earth.

The system as a whole is highly automated, its installation is quick and easy, ideal for isolated systems, remote areas and emergency areas.
