We can define carpentry to arm as that branch within the carpentry world that focuses on the design and construction of wooden structures. It is, therefore, to pay attention to the joints, assemblies and resistance of the construction, that is, the frame, being the secondary aesthetic criterion.

Traditional carpentry assembly was mainly developed on site, that is, on site. In most cases, it is still the case, but it is worth mentioning that there is a development and growing interest in modular and prefabricated houses. The importance of laminated wood

For centuries, if not millennia, the size of structures built with wood has been limited by the size of pieces of wood or beams. They were determined by the size of the tree and, although assemblies and other techniques are used to overcome these differences, the limitations and restrictions remained.

In recent decades, thanks to the appearance of laminated beams and cross-laminated wood, these limitations are now much less. These industrial techniques allow to obtain much bigger, longer pieces of wood and what is better, more resistant and stable.

It is an advance that has allowed for better and more complex wooden constructions, even skyscrapers.
