
In our gardens we always have organic waste that we can use as compost or to cover the soil with a layer of organic matter. Much of the waste is bulky and handling it can become a problem. To reduce its volume, we can use gasoline or electric grinders, but this is not our goal, because they consume energy to operate. We offer you build a manual shredder for gardens or small orchards that works on the same principle as the shears: Thanks to the multiplying force of a lever, a large cutting force is concentrated at a certain point.
Materials for making a manual shredder.
- 1 piece of wood 1 ½ ”x 7” x 14 ”.
- 1 machete 20 ”long.
- 4 ¼ ”x 3 ½” galvanized bolts.
- 19 ¼ ”galvanized sheaves.
- 4 ¼ ”galvanized nuts.
- 6 3 ”wood screws.
