Your kids will love this toy tin can. I still remember when I made him as a child. It’s so quick and easy to do that it will surprise you. Children will be impressed with how it works. It’s never too early for a science lesson!
A canned phone is a hearing device in which sound turns into string vibrations in a box. These vibrations are transmitted along a string, to be transformed back into sound in another box located at the end of the string.
You just need to open a tin can (I recommend a can opener with a smooth edge so you don’t leave any sharp edges).
Then use a hammer and nail to punch a hole in the box. Connect the two boxes with string.
Tie a knot in the string inside the box so that it does not come loose.
If you want to decorate it, you can do it with strips of colored paper.
You can also make a phone of this type with two paper cups, thus avoiding the danger of cans for children.
