How to make candied or candied orange peels

Today we are going to learn how to make candied orange peels, a fairly simple process that we can do quite quickly.

An original way to enjoy the orange peels that normally end up in the trash.

Instructions.

  1. We remove the peel from the orange.

    You can do it however you want. If you use orange for juices, you just need to clean them a little. Remove the flesh from the orange.

  2. We chop the shells.

    We cut the shells into not very large strips.

  3. We cook to eliminate bitterness.

    We cook them 3 or 4 times, 5 minutes. Change the water. With this we will be able to remove bitterness.

  4. Cook in syrup.

    We cook the strips with water and the same amount of sugar. It makes a syrup spice. Bake 30 to 40 minutes.

  5. We go out and empty.

    If you plan to eat them in the next few days, you can take them out and drain them. Otherwise, you can store them in a glass jar with the cooking water.
