The Hyundai Nexo set a new world record while traveling with a full tank of hydrogen: at the wheel was French aviator Bertrand Piccard.
Piccard drove a 778 km fuel cell Hyundai Nexo through France: after leaving the FaHyence service station in Sarreguemines (in the Grand Est) on Monday, November 25, the driver arrived at the Air Museum the next day. and space at Le Bourget (in Île-de-France).
During parts of his trip, Piccard was accompanied by various executives and personalities, including the CEO of Air Liquide, the Grand Duke of Luxembourg and two French ministers.
The aim of this experience was to make hydrogen technology known, but also to encourage comparisons and exchanges between these authorities with a view to developing sustainable mobility. Indeed, Piccard is president of the Solar Impulse Foundation, a project shared by the Hyundai group, which has made the French plane one of its ambassadors.
