Leonardo DiCaprio met with US President-elect Donald Trump just hours after appointing climate change denier Scott Pruitt as director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

There, they discussed the economic benefits of investing in renewable energy, including creating millions of jobs, one of the key promises of the Trump campaign.

Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, joined the meeting. Leonardo gave him a copy of his documentary Before the Flood.

The meeting appears to have focused on a presentation on how renewable energy could create millions of jobs for Americans. Terry Tamminen, executive director of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation (LDF), told The Associated Press that the meeting focused on the economy, where Leo attempted to demonstrate how clean energy can be a path to stability for United States. The conversation focused on how to create millions of safe jobs in the construction and maintenance of renewable energy facilities, both commercial and residential.

Given the president-elect’s track record on climate change, there is a lot of speculation about what the environment will be like under the Trump administration.

“Putting Scott Pruitt in charge of the Environmental Protection Agency is like putting an arsonist in charge of fighting fires” Michael Brune, executive director of the Sierra Club.
