Portugal operated for four consecutive days only with renewable energies

Last week, for 107 consecutive hours – just over four days, Portugal worked 100% with a mix of solar, hydro and wind energy. From 6:45 a.m. on Saturday May 7 to 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday 11, all of Portugal was powered by renewable energy.

In 2013, Portugal obtained half of its electricity from fossil fuels and only 23% from renewable sources.

Another case to add to the records that lately have renewable energies as protagonists, like the one we recently published, where Germany has produced so much renewable energy that it has paid people to consume electricity .
