Since a few decades ago, thanks to the appearance of the laminated beams and the structural cross laminated timber, these limitations are now much lower. These manufacturing techniques allow the obtaining of pieces of wood much larger, long and what is better, more stable and resistant.
It is an advancement that is allowing better and more complex wooden buildings, even skyscrapers.
